Pool Barrier Inspection Training WA partners with local councils across Western Australia to offer comprehensive training to equip course participants with the knowledge and skills to inspect swimming pool safety barriers, ensuring compliance with current and evolving safety standards and legislation. Our immersive 5-day training courses are designed to be informative, engaging and empowering. Qualified pool barrier safety inspectors help keep our kids safe, even in remote communities.
With a background in swimming pool construction and pool fencing manufacturing, our head trainer and course creator, Geoff Palazzi, has over 35 years experience in pool safety barriers and in conducting comprehensive training courses for individuals and councils across Australia. Our experienced team at Pool Barrier Inspection Training WA understands from a firsthand perspective the importance of providing course participants with a solid grounding in the safety standards and corresponding legislation, presented by real people using real world examples, in a practical way that is easy to grasp and apply. Their wealth of knowledge and experience, coupled with their ongoing accessibility and support, ensures course graduates are equipped to handle any pool safety compliance situation they may encounter.
Our mission is to work with local councils to provide pool barrier inspection training in order to successfully equip pool barrier safety inspectors with the skills and knowledge to keep communities across Western Australia safe.
During this 5-day course, participants will receive comprehensive training in how to conduct a thorough pool or spa safety inspection in a professional manner, according to the relevant swimming pool safety legislation and pool barrier safety standards in Western Australia.
The course will include:
- understanding and interpreting the pool safety legislation and standards
- learning how to carry out pool safety inspections and compliance checks
- documenting supporting evidence and utilising technology
- adherence to relevant compliance timeframes
- understanding scope of minor maintenance/repairs and executing
- professionalism and adopting the Code of Conduct for inspectors
- hands-on practical experience in a pool setting
- printed course materials and student resources
- in-person tuition and guidance from our experienced trainers
- formal assessment, both practical and theoretical
- laminated hardcopy of certificate of competency for each graduate
- ongoing support from trainers via phone or email indefinitely
Our team of experienced professionals conduct each training course face-to-face over a 5 day period. Due to the practical component of the course, it cannot be offered online via Zoom or Teams. Participants are required to attend in person.
The course is offered to local council representatives across Western Australia. Our team will travel to regional and remote communities but we require a swimming pool to conduct the practical activities of pool safety inspections.
We offer ongoing support and advice to participants and councils at any stage by phone or email.
If you are a local council representative and would like to arrange pool barrier inspection training for your team, either phone Geoff Palazzi on 0414 666 969 or click Book Course Now to arrange a course.
Participants who satisfactorily complete the assessment graduate as pool barrier safety inspectors, able to carry out safety inspections for swimming pools and spas in accordance with current swimming pool safety legislation and pool barrier safety standards AS1926.1-1993, AS1926.2-2007, AS1926.1-2012 in Western Australia. Graduates will be issued with a certificate of competency.
The team at Pool Barrier Inspection Training WA are available for ongoing support by phone or email at any stage and are happy to answer questions about any aspect of their courses or about safety legislation and standards in Western Australia.
